Minecraft BUILD COMPETITION

Free to enter private server build competition! Join us in showcasing your creativity in our upcoming 7-day event starting on Sunday, May 26th at 12 pm EST. Show off your best builds and compete against other community members for a chance to win from a prize pool of $65. Participants and community members will cast their votes during our June 3rd Monthly livestream on Twitch.

The server mode is set to creative. If this event is successful we will keep the private server running and host more events.

This private server is cross-platform. Be sure you have the game downloaded and updated before playing.

COMPETITION THEME

SxR Esports Content House; A content house is a space for influencers and content creators to collaborate creatively, featuring specialized rooms tailored to the type of content being produced, alongside living areas for residents to unwind and engage in their daily routines.

Builds should be:

  • Inspired by SxR Esports’ past and present color schemes, graphics, assets, apparel, aesthetics, and website. If you are uncertain there will be photos in the Minecraft event page of our Discord server.

  • Have bedrooms and living areas.

SIDE QUEST

There are 8 structures with hidden chests near or next to them containing a note and various items. The player who finds the most chests will win the first-place prize, the runner-up will win the second-place prize.

All structures are in somewhat close proximity to each other, depending on your video settings and system you may be able to see the others load halfway while being close to one. All structures have signposts with Grimmy’s name and there are no generated structures (all structures are manmade). Players must take all items in the chest and return them to Grimmy or Grim when they are online; in the event that you don’t see them online please DM them on Discord with a screenshot of the note and the items, continue to hold onto the items safely until they come back online to retrieve the items. All chests have a different quantity of items and notes have a code that cannot be replicated to prevent cheating.

VOTING & WINNERS

  • On Monday 3rd June, we’ll be hosting a Twitch live stream where a voting form will be released to the public, and scores will be counted and announced live, event participants will also be allowed to vote but will not be able to vote for themselves.

PRIZE POOL

  • First place content house - $30

  • Second place content house - $20

  • First place side quest - $10

  • Second place side quest - $5

EVENT RULES

  • Server address ID will be announced in a private chat with other players within our Discord server on Sunday. Approved players will also be put on a whitelist.

  • If you're on PC your in-game username may differ from your Microsoft username. Please boot the game and launch a single-player map then press the tab button on your keyboard to ensure the username you're attaching below is correct. Incorrect IDs will cause delays in adding you to the server's whitelist.

  • It is REQUIRED for all participants to send their build coordinates to @Grimmy via Discord.

  • No Griefing other participants.

  • If you accidentally destroy or damage someone else’s build you must let the creator know and help fix it.

  • There is no size limit however we ask that you respect other players’ space, and do not build too close or on top of other’s builds.

  • Terrain augmentation is allowed however we ask you to be careful and thoughtful of the natural beauty of the environment.

  • You may build above or below ground as long as it compliments the environment.

  • Any form of offensive, sexual, political, or derogatory content will result in a permanent player ban and temporary server shutdown.

  • You may use YouTube tutorials, building tools, and other forms of inspiration but you must link them in your build submission form towards the end of the event.

  • Mods other than the ones we’ve outlined in our recommended list must be brought up to @Grimmy via Discord.

  • You MUST leave a signpost near your building with your name on it.

  • Duos and Trios are allowed but players should acknowledge that if their build wins they will have to split the prize amongst themselves.

  • Daylight is set to permanent, if you would like to see your build progress in nightfall please @Grimmy for help.

  • If you encounter issues with the server not functioning properly or facing connectivity issues, please contact @grimmy or @Grim on Discord.

SERVER SETTINGS

  • Disabled

    • PvP, Villagers, Monster, Universal Anger, Raids, Insomnia, Limited Crafting, Fall damage, Fire damage, Freeze Damage, TNT explosion.

  • Enabled

    • Flying, Animals, Nether, Always daylight, Fire spread, Weather.

GAME & SERVER REQUIREMENTS

Java version 1.20.6.

If you boot the game in an older version and attempt to join the server it will not work.

If you’re running OptiFine for shaders and resource packs the latest update of OptiFine is for game version 1.20.4, your shaders and resource packs will not work on the server. Please look into downloading Iris & Sodium instead.

The server may periodically lose connection but everything will automatically save “server connection lost”. Just reload and rejoin. This is due to the server host company connection.

If you’re on a PC and have a system that is capable of running shaders and resource packs please contact @Grimmy for the recommended list and settings. Please be advised we are not responsible for any issues that occur, use at your own risk.
